This was a job in stages. First of all we designed a double garage with a craft space above it. Then before the construction began, the owners decided to integrate the new garage with the existing cottage, and when we looked at the floor plan and available space on site we saw the opportunity to add another bedroom/office/walk in wardrobe and ensuite. There were a few challenges, we needed to apply for a resource consent and include a high level of soundproofing in the design, also the site itself needed Civil Engineering input. The finished home is very functional, warm, visually appealing and sits well on its site taking in sweeping views.
